Corn dogs are a great treat on all occasions. You can slather them in ketchup, mustard or a mayo & ketchup mixture. In my honest opinion I think they are filling by themselves but I have heard of people adding a side of baked beans or macaroni salad. Of course, if you’re a vegan, we usually have to skip this little tradition. Thanks to Morningstar Farms we no longer have to miss out. They went from vegetarian corn dogs to completely vegan corn dogs. They are rising as the go-to brands in the world of plant-based meat substitutes.
I don't know how everyone else approach their children with hotdogs but I do not let mine near them. However these vegan classic corn dogs are designed for snacking. They are warm and soft and I have considered giving them to my children. They come four in a box and are a little bit pricey but nothing a vegan is not used to seeing. My family does not use microwaves so, I was happy to see the instructions on the packaging for the oven instead of the microwave. We preheated to 400 degrees F, heated them for 10 minutes on one side, flipping them over about halfway through for 10 more mins.
Morningstar Farms is a company that actually gets them right. The outer coating is a nice cornbread-ish taste. It’s crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, which is exactly how a corn dog should be.
These taste amazing, and they avoid many of the pitfalls most veggie foods have, flavor. These will be great for a wonderful summertime outing.
